Time for some festive sun, sea and sand: fst does Albufeira!
by Becky Townsend at December 16, 2016
You know the fst Christmas countdown has started when we pack our sunglasses and jet off for a sangria-filled weekend somewhere in Europe.
This year we went to Albufeira in the south of Portugal, where Rob and Vinnie organised three days of activities, traditional Portuguese meals and the obligatory fst dance offs.
Considering they’re both new to the traditions of fst Christmas parties, we think they pulled it off spectacularly.
We thought we’d give you a few highlights from this year. You can fill in the gaps yourself!
“Realising that I can indeed stay up after midnight and won’t turn into a pumpkin.”
Kerryn Dimmock, Creative Services Manager
Adam Millard, Senior Creative (after losing his voice on the second night)
“There are plenty of memorable moments, but it’s all a bit of a blur thanks to a few too many. The crowd surfing and dancing on the bar was pretty unforgettable. An amazing trip with amazing people – definitely worth the lack of sleep!”
Annalize Haughton, Creative
Matt Sears, Senior Film Maker and husband-to-be
“Playing football on the beach was pretty special, even though my jeans ripped and people kept kicking sand in my face. So was singing bad pop songs in Route 66 while wearing a lime green hat.”
Dane Cobain, Social Media Specialist
“Walking into Route 66 to the sound of House of the Rising Sun with an army of 30 fst party animals was the highlight for me. But let’s not mention the bald guy.”
Jacob Buckle, Account Executive
“I vividly remember sitting in the office, wishing I was there…”
Ryan Grundy, Office Administrator
(a total legend, who stayed in the UK to keep the business going)
“I liked the way we got to see the beautiful scenery from the pub windows.”
Giuseppe Forestieri, Motion Graphics Designer and Master of Sarcasm
“Singing ‘there’s only one Super Mark’ in the middle of a restaurant. No party’s the same without it.”
Charlotte Hazelwood, Account Manager
“The trip was mad as a hatter!”
Craig Watson, Chief Strategy Officer
“It was the year that Craig saved Christmas after Lauren took us to the wrong gate at the airport!”
Dan Merrilees, Account Director
This year we welcomed ten new recruits to the party and hopefully they felt like part of the family. Our Christmas parties are the talk of the town and give us something to look forward to at the end of another successful year. For many of us, the annual Christmas party was our first taste of the fst company culture!
And, of course, here’s wishing a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone we know and love. See you in 2017!
