The Champagne and Pimms flowed and all in the name of charity!
2nd July 2009
A great time was had by all at the fst family day on Saturday, 2nd July at Henley Royal Regatta. Organised in support of local charity Longridge Activity Centre, the day was packed with fun and frolics! The children were kept entertained by a bouncy castle and giant games, leaving the adults free to relax and enjoy themselves. This enjoyment consisted mainly of generously supporting the Honesty Bar, resulting in a fantastic number of donations to the charity.
As a result of everyone’s kind contributions, an impressive £876.42 will be presented to Longridge. Amanda Foister, Centre Director of Longridge is delighted: “Longridge is wonderfully full of happy, inspired young people this summer all growing in confidence and having fun outdoors.
It is our aim is to keep the centre as full over the Autumn and Spring; to achieve this we need even more challenging and exciting land activities. We have consulted with our young users and every single one picked a 13m giant team swing as being our next activity and therefore we would like to put this in as a new activity for this autumn - the only hitch is that it costs £25,000, this contribution from fst , inches us closer to the target - we now only have to find the last £4,800!”
“We always have a lot of fun at Henley and this year was one of the best” said Otto Marples, MD of fst The Group. “It was great that everyone brought their family with them and supporting such a worthwhile cause made the day even better."
